SUPPLIES

Prep Your Corks

Start by laying out your wine corks on a flat surface. Not all corks are the same size and shape, so sort by size for a more uniform look.

Glue the Corks Together

Create the snowflake shape by gluing six corks around a single cork.

Using a hot glue gun, carefully attach the corks at the points where they touch. Hold each connection for a few seconds until the glue sets.

Then, connect the arms of the snowflake. Once again, hold in place for several seconds each time you apply hot glue.

TIP: To make the snowflake extra sturdy, use E6000 craft glue in addition to hot glue.

Paint the Corks

You can actually paint the tips of the corks before or after gluing.

Recently, I made Santa hats using wine corks and painted all the corks before gluing them together. For this project, I decided to paint them after assembling the pieces.

Both methods work perfectly well, so feel free to choose whichever approach you prefer!

Use a craft paintbrush to paint the tips of each cork. Dip the brush into your paint, then carefully apply a thin, even coat to the ends of the corks. This method gives you more control and helps prevent excess paint.

Allow the snowflake to dry for about 10-15 minutes before handling.

Add Embellishments (Optional)

Add a dusting of glitter for a sparkling effect, or glue on small beads, buttons, or other festive embellishments.

You can also attach a hanger if you choose to use as an ornament.

To do so, cut a piece of twine, ribbon, or string to your desired length. Glue or tie it securely to the back of one of the cork arms to hang your snowflake on a tree, wall, or gift.

If attaching a hanger, I would highly recommend using E6000 craft glue in addition to hot glue so it will be more sturdy when hanging.
