Cleaning Glasses with a Magic Eraser | It Really is Magic!
This post is slightly embarrassing! I’d like to think I’m a fairly tidy and clean gal, but my drinking glasses were looking horrible. They were covered in hard water spots and stains and no amount of hand washing or running them through the dishwasher was helping.
Enter the Magic Eraser. You guys, this little mystery pad is truly magical. After reading this you will most certainly be cleaning glasses with a Magic Eraser at your home, too!

Cleaning glasses with a magic eraser:
Get a good peek at all of my stained and hard-water spot glasses. Some of these were almost thrown out because no matter how much I scrubbed, they wouldn’t come clean.
Water Spot Glasses Before:
My daughter wanted me to be certain I mentioned that ALL of these glasses were clean in the before pictures. She isn’t thrilled that I’m showing this little corner of the world how we live.
Hard Water buildup on glass:
As I’m looking at these photos I cannot believe I still had these glasses in our cupboard! They almost don’t even resemble glass!
I’m not really sure why it had never occurred to me to use the Magic Eraser on glasses before, but it just hadn’t! So, I’m sharing this just in case it hadn’t occurred to you either.
There were several occasions that we’ve had friends or family over and I was a bit mortified by how bad the glasses looked. I usually just apologized, complained about our dishwasher, and moved on. But it made me crazy and I didn’t like it.
Buying new glasses every few months was certainly not an option either!
Cleaning Glasses with a Magic Eraser:
The process is simple. Wet the glass, then wipe very well with the magic eraser. Wash the glasses really well with soap and water after scrubbing with the Magic Eraser.
This 5 minute project saved me from needing to replace our drinking glasses and several wine glasses! Some of the cheaper quality glasses didn’t come completely clean, but they are 100% better.
I also cleaned a lot of bowls and dishes that were a bit dingy. They look almost new again.

I’ve used a magic eraser on nearly every surface in my bathroom with amazing results (not the SAME magic eraser – gross!). The appliances in my kitchen have been cleaned many times with these magic pads as well. BUT, once again, I’m just stumbling upon using them for my glasses.
The magic eraser is also great for spot cleaning walls. I’ve gotten rid of a lot of marks on my painted walls with a simple swipe.
What other things in your home have you cleaned with them?
Now, go grab a Magic Eraser and try this for yourself. Not that your glasses would ever look this dirty;-)
