Welcome to Love Our Real Life! I’m April.
Love Our Real Life is all about everyday living. From DIY projects, to decorating, to organizing, to day-to-day experiences that are real for my family and yours.
Finding ways to enjoy your home while navigating life can be challenging and I’m here to show you some tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way!
Having a home you love does not require spending a fortune.
LOTS of DIYs and home decor solutions for the regular person are shared here. My goal is to help you turn your home into a place you love to be without stressing your budget!
Let me sift through the projects that give the most impact, so you don’t waste your time trying a DIY that won’t bring value to your home. After all, this is real life and I know you don’t have time for all the things!
Who am I?
I love diy projects, crafts, and organization! Over the years, I’ve completed hundreds of projects that have helped make our house a home and I am so excited to share some of these with you.

I’m a firm believer that we all have the ability to create a home we love with a little bit of effort. Our homes are where we are raising our families. It is SO important to be happy in the places we spend so much time.
No more saying “I hate my house”. My mission is to help you find ways to appreciate your home instead of focusing on the negatives.
I am a Jesus lover, wife to Jason (check out his soccer site!), a mother of two teenagers (pray for me!), and ultimately, just a girl that likes to pour myself into a project that interests me to see if I can make it my own.
I love decorating, but really, I’m best at piecing together things I see and love, and trying to make it work in my life.
Not everything I do is a success, of course, but my goal is to keep on trying. Sometimes I learn just as much from the failures as from the successes.
In addition to running this blog, I work as a speech-language pathologist at a hospital outpatient clinic treating adults suffering with speech, language, cognitive, and/or swallowing deficits. This has been my occupation for over 20 years! I feel incredibly fortunate to have found two very different, yet fulfilling occupations!
Our family vacation to Alaska in 2018.
I promise I’ll be honest about my failures to spare you the time and energy!
I’d love you to join me on this journey. Together, we’ll laugh at our failures and celebrate our successes – that’s what real life is all about, and real life is more fun with friends along for the ride!
