Master Bathroom Renovation

Hey there!  Today I will be sharing some pictures of our master bathroom renovation.  We moved into our home nearly 11 years ago.  Design trends have changed quite a lot over the past 10 years.  Although the decor was outdated, I still wouldn’t have been so anxious to update our bathroom, except it was incredibly cold when we showered.

Renovate master bathroom, update master bathroom

Our shower had no door and a glass block wall that didn’t go terribly high.  Aesthetically beautiful?  I thought so.  Functional?  No!  Somehow, an impressively frigid wind tunnel would be created in the shower when our bathroom doors were closed…a less than pleasant showering experience, to say the least. It’s nearly impossible to shave your legs when you are covered in goosebumps!

For a couple of years, I even showered in our basement after working out in the mornings just to avoid the ancient winds of our master bathroom.  I decided enough was enough!  My husband agreed we should move this renovation project to the top of our list.  After all, he didn’t like cold showers either.

Above is a picture of the pretty, but impractical glass block wall surrounding our shower.  Gives me chills just looking at it:)

The above is a “during” picture of the framed in shower…with a ceiling to keep the warmth in!

The colors are cool tones, but I promise it is so much warmer in here, you guys!  It truly feels like a spa/resort experience every day.  I am proud to say, I have not showered in our basement since the bathroom renovation has been completed.  In case you are wondering, the paint color is now Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Renovation that takes place while you are living in your home is never fun.  But, these results were worth every inconvenience we might have experienced.  Leave me a note and let me know your thoughts or just say hello!
